The ex-president and his “disarming writing style”

Jimmy Carter wants to disarm you!

When I read our ex-Presidents’ latest Op-ed in the NY times (which I always have to force myself to do) calling on the banning of assault rifles, I was struck by the need to puke and then to deploy various methods of “anger management” techniques when I realized that the 1st amendment also applies to this socialist.

Make no mistake, the ex-Pres does have a gift of “imagery” in his writing style and it is this imagery that is too hard to fathom as being true. For instance, he weaves a tale that he is an avid hunter in “good ole boy” fashion where he and his buddies trudge through the “family lands” in search of prey and goes as far to tell the readers “I have used weapons since I was big enough to carry one, and now own two handguns, four shotguns and three rifles, two with scopes.”

I wish to “disarm” this notion that this socialist is an avid gun owner by taking a “quote” from the end of his article:
“The gun lobby and the firearms industry should reassess their policies concerning safety and accountability — at least on assault weapons — and ease their pressure on acquiescent politicians who fear N.R.A. disapproval at election time. We can’t let the N.R.A.’s political blackmail prevent the banning of assault weapons — designed only to kill police officers and the people they defend.”
The statement “at least on assault weapons” says it all. It shows that he believes a total ban on weapons is in order but is happy for now to just renew the ban.

This propaganda piece of crap is written to “disarms the readers of any sense that there is not an assault on our 2nd Amendment rights” by the Obama administration of “good ole boy hunters like Carter”.

He tries to persuade the readers of this by this excerpt from the article:
“Heavily influenced and supported by the firearms industry, N.R.A. leaders have misled many gullible people into believing that our weapons are going to be taken away from us, and that homeowners will be deprived of the right to protect ourselves and our families. The N.R.A. would be justified in its efforts if there was a real threat to our constitutional right to bear arms. But that is not the case.”
It is not the NRA that have attempted to mislead “gullible” people (which by the way, these gullible people are gun owners of America) it is the democrats/socialists that are misleading the gun owners with statements like this. For instance, in the heavy democratic controlled city (and State) of New Orleans during hurricane Katrina, the population was disarmed by the police when they needed their weapons for self defense most (in an actual emergency). Furthermore, the Obama Administrations recent attempt to make our guns useless by the attempted banning of ammunition recycling and ammunition “registration” was thwarted by the massive outcry of these “gullible” people.
The covert attempts to circumvent our gun rights by Obama’s pledge to sign the UN weapons ban treaty (which will make it illegal for individuals to “reload” spent ammunition cartridges) is another avenue to wrest our personal weapons from our lawful and respectful fingers.

No, after I puked from reading this diatribe and employing my “anger management” techniques, I set out to “mislead the masses by writing this article in response.

Oh, and by the way, what animal is it that you use your “2 personal handguns” on while hunting on the “family farm” Mr. President?
