The Death of Investigative Journalism

It has been a long time since "Woodward and Berstein" type reporting.  The Main Street Media has engaged in a long slide into irrelevance.  No longer Can they be trusted to report the news in the manner that keeps us safe from many of the trespasses against us.  They only are concerned with creating a narrative that fits their ideological viewpoint and in more cases than not do not resemble anything near factual.  We pick up and read their diatribe as average citizens only to be left with the distinct impression that our world has turned upside down.  What is up appears to be down.  What we know to be right is said to be wrong.  We live in a world that is so foreign on the printed page that it does not reconcile with our own perceptions.

I was reading an article that hit the wires at American Thinker and for once in a very long time it struck me that the gist of what I just said above came into clear focus.  Before I link the article I want my readers to try to recall all of the pre-trial coverage, trial coverage and the post trial coverage of the Travon Martin shooting.  Now, read the linked article and compare this piece of investigative journalism to what we have been fed by the Topsy turvey MSM.

Update 9/1 - 2nd part of 3 part series to the linked article from American Thinker.
Update 9/2 - 3rd part of 3 part series to the linked article from American Thinker.

Educate yourself

Most of my readers are pro-American constitutionalist.  We know that there are forces that are active against our interests and wish to disarm us.  The statists believe that only police should be armed and it is they that are the protectors of the innocent and law abiding.  Next time you openly carry, or you are engaging a statist arguing that you should submit your personal weapons to cede your safety to them then remember the following court cases.

The cases I reference, found in a Breitbart article, illustrate that litigated case law is already established to hold the State harmless in protecting you personally from others.  They are liable only to ensure they protect you against themselves (i.e., arrest without due process etc).  In DeShaney v. Winnebago County and in Moore v. Madigan are illustrative of the fact WE the people are the only ones who can protect ourselves since the law vindicates the States of that responsibility.

I suggest that you read the link to the article above as it is very informative and will help to clarify the legal argument ground in which you stand against those who wish to take that ground out from under you.

Aiding and Abetting a terrorist

Why is it that a self-confessed terrorist recently convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder committed during a terror attack be denied the terrorist label by our own Government?  It is not surprising the Government continues to "fog the facts" of Nadal Hassan's true intentions by saying the attack he committed at Ft. Hood as work place violence.  The Government has blood on its hands and is complicit in the atrocity committed because the Military Brass and the US Intelligence community knew who and what Hassan was long before he walked into that medical facility at Ft. Hood.  The Obama administration continues the grief of the families because even if justice is meted and Hassan is actually put to death those he murdered are being denied the military medals and compensation that goes with it.  The Government has the ability to right this travesty and elevate those slain service members from mere victims of their workplace.

During the trial, Hassan openly admitted the killings were motivated by his Islamic religion to wage Jihad against the US.  The trial judge did everything possible to keep this terrorist from actually being one in the court room.  For instance, in 2010 Hassan was interviewed by mental health experts and that report was denied inclusion into the record because "According to these documents, Hasan told medical health experts in 2010 that he "would still be a martyr" even if he was convicted and executed by the US government.
Hassan wanted to share this report with the Prosecution but the Judge denied it!  The Judge also denied prosecution evidence of Hassan early radicalization.
So Hassan continues to be paid his salary and receives the best medical care at our expense.  The US Government knew who and what Hassan was.  In spite of the fact that Hassan worked every single day of his military career alongside psychiatrists they were clueless about spotting his behavior?

General George Casey, the US Army Chief of Staff said it all when he was quoted shortly after the shooting:

""real tragedy" would be harming the cause of diversity, saying, "As great a tragedy as this was, it would be a shame if our diversity became a casualty as well."  Several months later, in a February 2010 interview, Casey said, "Our diversity – not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse."

Why don't we just drop the word "diversity" and leave the word "cause" because the cause that Hassan was attempting to uphold in his sick and twisted Islamic mind is exactly what the Government is protecting.  Aiding and Abetting, pure and simple....

Dark Shadows

I awoke this morning, early as usual and set in my normal routine of perusing all of the news that occurred overnight.  I find a couple of headlines that catch my attention.  My gears start to turn.  I sit behind my keyboard and start typing.  It starts with my mood and the title reflects it.

Here are some of those headlines:

AP - Military Jury Convicts Soldier in Ft. Hood Attack
WND - Military teaches colonists were extremist

The two articles above were found this morning.  Both are linked at the hip as both pertain to the current situation within our military.

The teaching material listed above in the WND article is quite disturbing.  Just by writing this article I would be viewed as an extremist.  The disturbing trend of teaching our military members to view in this manner is ever increasing.  On Page 43 of the student guide it explains "Extremist Ideologies" (subsection D) as:

"As noted, an ideology is a set of political beliefs about the nature of people and society.  People who are committed to an ideology seek not only to persuade but the recruit other to their belief.  In U.S. history, there are many examples of extremist ideologies and movements.  The colonists who sought to free themselves from British rule and the Confederate states who sought to secede from the Northern states are just two examples."

Here we have the military teaching its members how to identify extremists in order to root them out of the military.  They compare the colonist and fight for independence from tyrannical rule alongside Confederate states secession because they wanted to retain the right to own slaves.

The military has been infiltrates by extremist is true, but the extremists are now teaching/indoctrinating members into a foreign liberal culture that itself hates America.  I am speaking of the Obama culture and those on the left who peddle this claptrap in colleges and grade schools across the country.  It has now found its way into military schools.  The outcome of the Ft. Hood trial will be telling.  Hassan, an Islamic extremists by every description including his own, will probably receive the death penalty because he wants it.  The proof in the pudding is will he ever be put to death for his crimes against humanity?  Will he be given a quick execution as Timothy McVeigh received upon his request.  I doubt it, because McVeigh was given a civil trial and Hassan a military one.

Anatomy of Democrat emotional arguments

We have known for some time now that the Democrats cannot debate positions that mainstream Americans truly care about on factual substance.  The reason they cannot perform along these lines is because the facts get in the way of their deceitful narrative.  We have seen this time and time again.  We know, for example, that most Americans believe in the fight against terror.  The Democrats do not.  The problem with the Democrats is the emotion that is connected to terrorism is on the side of the coin that their logic is not.  When this occurs then they flail about to find a new strategy and then ultimately they go to the playbook and just change the nomenclature because it, the terminology that currently exists, works against them.  A terrorist act is now "an overseas contingency operation".  Forever gone is the words "terrorist act" from being spoken by them.  The Fort Hood terrorist act too was relabeled/classified as "workplace violence".  See the difference.

We have always known that the Democrats blur the lines where ever it helps their positions ideologically.  We refer to this as their "playbook" because they can never let a crisis go to waste.  The Democrats play on the emotional aspects of their arguments on position instead of the facts.  This has worked so successfully that it is ingrained into their DNA.  I find it amusing that they actually have to write down this tactic in an actual playbook so they can study it in a "self help" manual.

The gun debate always rages after an emotional incident occurs here.  Newton, Columbine, Ft. Hood and of course Travon Martin as just the latest examples of a "crisis too good to go to waste" in promoting the repealing of our 2nd Amendment rights.  Travon Martin and the verdict that Zimmerman received after his trial is a prime example of how Democrats cannot rely on facts and go strictly to emotions as they argued racism was involved in the jury decision.  When confronted with facts laid out into evidence, Zimmerman was acquitted as he should have been.  But, this isn't good enough for them as they immediately went to race, emotions, chocolate covered peanuts, anything else but the fact he was found not guilty.  He is guilty by emotional standards and that should be good enough to send him to jail to further their narrative.  Remember Benghazi and the lefts insistence that this was not a planned terror attack, but a spontaneous gathering of those who were offended by a video.  We know now, as we always have known, that it was an act of terror carried out on 9/11.  The Democrats ruined a American filmmakers life to paint a different picture.  Hello, it occurred on 9/11 and we are to believe that it is a mere coincidence.  Facts.

Getting to the reason of this posting today, there is an 80 playbook that was recently uncovered as a self help guide when discussing gun issues.  We know the Democrats want us disarmed and again never letting a crisis go to waste they write down their play on how to defeat those pesky facts that get in the way of logic and truth.  Again, go for the emotional argument vs. facts.  Change the nomenclature to support the emotion with the audience.  For example, "never say gun crime" as the emotional imprint that comes to your audience is "criminal".  Always use "gun violence" as the first thing that imprints is gun violence and not the criminal attached to the crisis.

It is an 80 page report but worth the read to show this audience how we need to expose them as the snake oil salesmen that they truly are.  How's that for an emotional imprint?

Blog of the Month

"Rational Preparedness"

This is a blog worth following.  A little sample of content here:

The Iron fist of el-Sissi

It is becoming quite apparent that the military in Egypt is intent on doing what this Administration is not capable of -- Destroying the Muslim Brotherhood.  As you may recall the Obama Administration was politically aligned, or hitched their wagon to, the Muslim Brotherhood leadership in Egypt.  This cozy and warm relationship Obama was fostering with the tentacles of terror has disturbed many in this country, not to mention a lot of rank and file citizens across Egypt.  We are leaning now, for example, that the terror attack that killed 4 of our diplomats in Bengazi have a link directly to the ousted former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood.  A few days ago I posted a video of a 12 year old boy who was stopped on the street by a Western Journalist and interviewed about the current situation on the ground in Egypt and was awe struck by the articulate and heady answers he gave that give us here in the US a moment of clarity and pause that the rank and file protesters, including a 12 year old boy, want freedom for their country.  They view Islam, or more aptly, radical Islam the like that the Muslim Brotherhood were busy instilling upon their countrymen are treated with contempt that do not coincide with what the average citizens were trying to bring about.  The Egyptian military apparently is sided with those wanting change and are engaging radical Islam aggressively with all the might they possess militarily much to the chagrin of Western media outlets who are backing the wrong horse, so to speak, much akin to this Administration.  The link above is one example of the kind of "reporting" that we hear in the liberal echo chambers.  For instance we learned early from our own liberal President that the war on "terror" is over.  The reluctance to even use anything that hints to that word "terror" is forever banned nomenclature.  It is now an "overseas contingency operation".  This line of thinking is clear by the reporters disgust with the word when he writes:

"Tens of thousands of Muslim Brotherhood supporters remain camped across Cairo and other Egyptian cities – “terrorists” is the tired but dangerous code word that General Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi used about them yesterday."

and

"El-Sisi’s talk of “terrorism” was principally referring to the daily attacks on Egyptian soldiers in the Sinai peninsula, which appear to be more the work of al-Qa’ida affiliates, smugglers and tribal leaders than any involvement by the Brotherhood."

Here the pseudo-journalist blurs the lines giving the reader the impression that the Brotherhood is not involved what-so-ever in terror.  We see the same claptrap crap about Israel being the terrorists and the Palestinians as the victims.  As stated above, the involvement of the Brotherhood in the Benghazi terror attack is indicative of this involvement.  The premise about the intelligence community is that the Muslim Brotherhood seeks the release of the "Blind Sheik" from US custody where he is currently serving a life term for his terror involvement in the first twin tower attacks in Manhattan.  The premise is this, the Muslim Brotherhood wanted to kidnap Ambassador Stevens in order to trade him for the Blind Sheik.  But, given the propensity of terrorists to kill people, they ended up killing him when they had him in their grasp.  The time period before the Benghazi attack and directly after had the Obama Administration (The State Department headed by Hillary Clinton) was in negotiations for his release.

It was similar to the release of the Lockerbie bomber on "humanitarian reasons" to Egypt.  To say that the terror attacks occurring across Egypt were loose affiliates to al-Qaeda and not the Brotherhood is patently absurd.  Do I really need to remind everyone that the Blind Sheik is the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and that the number two al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.  In a similar move, the American (I use that term loosely) attorney that represented the Blind Sheik herself was indicted, prosecuted and convicted of aiding a terrorist organization when she was found to be passing information from the Sheik to his followers overseas to continue the violence against the Egyptian Government.  Lynn Steward is described as such:

"Stewart was admitted to the NY State Bar on January 31, 1977 and for much of her career as a lawyer, Stewart represented a number of economically disadvantaged clients as well as more high profile cases. Stewart is a self-described "movement lawyer" who took a wider interest in promoting the general political interests of those she represented, rather than only dealing with the specific charges against them. Stewart defended Weather Underground member David Gilbert, who was found guilty for his role in the 1981 Brinks armored car robbery in which two police officers and a security guard were murdered. In 1991, Stewart was subpoenaed to explain alternative fee arrangements with a gang member who she had been defending on a drug trafficking charge. Stewart refused the subpoena and eventually pleaded guilty to a contempt of court charge, a misdemeanor that would not result in her disbarment. Another high-profile client was Black Panther Willie Holder who hijacked Western Airlines Flight 701 on June 2, 1972, in an unsuccessful attempt to negotiate for the release of Angela Davis."

In 1991, with the help of Eric Holder, Bill Clinton commuted (pardoned) the sentence of fellow Weather Underground member to David Gilber (see above brinks armored car robbery client of Stewart) Linda Sue Evans.

In 2010 Stewart's attorneys tried to take the same tactic that the Lockerbie bomber took to gain release for humanitarian reasons:

"Stewart's breast cancer returned after she was imprisoned. Scheduled for surgery for other problems the week she was sentenced, Stewart instead had to wait eighteen months for that surgery. In the meantime the cancer metastasized to the point that her attending physician called it the worst case he had ever seen. She has received chemotherapy in custody but her condition is feared to be terminal. Human rights activists Dick Gregory and Desmond Tutu publicly endorsed a petition to grant her compassionate release, while conservative commentator Michelle Malkin has advocated that she should die in prison.

On June 25th, 2013, Stewart announced that she had received a letter stating that Federal Bureau of Prisons Director Charles Samuels had denied her request for compassionate release."

She, like the Lockerbie bomber, purports to be "terminal" when in fact she is still alive and kicking behind bars despite her doctor calling her cancer "the worst he has ever seen"!

So when I see that the Egyptian military is taking the fight to the radical Islamist Muslim Brotherhood in order to wipe them from existence, I applaud their deciciveness.

The future of Egypt's youth is a little brighter today

I wish all children were as educated and articulate as this boy is in Egypt today.  With all of the turmoil he has his head on straight and could teach a thing or three to Obama and his middle east policy wonks.  It is obvious that Egypt does not have a "low information" voter problem.

"And now a word from our Sponsors"

As radio stations go, less commercials and more music is king.  Everyone hates those pesky interruptions to your favorite rock station.  Everyone hates the commercials except of course the station manager that has to pay the bills.  The selling of commercial airtime is paramount to keeping your station on the air.  This is why Rush Limbaugh calls his commercial breaks as "time now for an obscene profit timeout".  Of course Limbaugh has the massive listener audience to joke about the barrels of corporate cash he rakes in for his show.  Now at the other end of that spectrum and highlights the need for corporate commercial sponsorship to survive we have "Air America" as an example of a failed listener content.  The public didn't buy their claptrap talking heads and thus had somewhere in the neighborhood of say, 12 listeners.  12 listeners do not lure corporate money especially since the anti-American, anti-capitalist content they were spewing daily.

Now, we have another "air America" example of the failed content variety.  I speak of that cable channel that recently was sold by Al Gore (Current TV).  While Al Gore owned it, it could not muster enough revenue and lost money because, again, the content was not being consumed by the public.  So, Gore got out of the TV business and sold to, wait for it, Al Jazeera

It seems that they go live this week but only have 6 minutes of airtime sold to commercial advertisers.  With over 1,000 journalists and a whopping budget they think that they could invade the US TV market and actually build viewership.  When Al Jazeera is best known for playing all those Bin Laden tapes as soon as his donkey courier delivered them from some cave (er, I mean mansion in Lahore).  I thought I would never say this about CNN, but their audience numbers won't be impacted by a new rival on the block, or maybe they will.

The true meaning of "Scourge"

American Heritage Dictionary:  "A source of great suffering, or harm"; "A means of inflicting severe suffering, or punishment"; "To devastate, ravage"

When you think back historically to individuals or regimes and apply the term "scourge" to you first come to Hitler, Nazi's, Pol Pot and communism in general.  I am sure you can give even more examples that I have not listed because there are many.  In all of those instances the "scourge" was purged.  They were purged because the inherent nature of their evil and vile ways dictated it.

I also believe that this term directly applies to all of the social, economic and international policies of the Obama Administration specifically and to socialist Democrats generically.  For instance, when you look at the social policies that the Democrats have historically aligned themselves with fit the bill.  Abortion.  Anti-Americanism.  I list anti-Americanism and paint it with a broad brush to include the hatred for Capitalism, military might and the basic fundamentals of the US Constitution with the Bill of Rights.  Dennis Prager said it best when describing the term "America, the worlds last hope" analogy.  He rightly asserts that the term "the worlds last hope" is never used in describing Norway, Iran, Britain or any other country on this planet.  It is solely used for the freedom that America espouses for the individual.  He sums up his point by reminding his listeners that Auschwitz was not liberated by "peace activists".

The quiet buildup of National policing agencies like the "Department of Homeland Security" and the heavy handed use of power with the IRS are early indicators of the unbridled scourge that this Administration is putting into place.  The "hollowing" out of the military at the same time is chilling.  This country was founded on individuals who were first labeled traitors but eventually were heralded as patriots for their sacrifices in founding a truly free nation.  Though hundreds of years have passed since those sacrifices there are scores ready to lay their lives down to maintain or fight to regain these ideals.  Peaceniks not a one.  It is said that there are many circumstances present today as there were in the times preceding the American revolution.  It is also said that there is a growing discontent with the direction that our elected leaders are pushing us towards, against our collective will.  The international events that have emboldened those we used to call enemies to freedom are growing.  The Administration is mired in one failure of policy after another and a purge is a coming.  The question is will it occur with rifles with flowers sticking out of their barrel or at the end of a fully loaded musket?

You can put a blue dress on it, but it's still

a pig!

There are some notable Democrats, you know, those champions of women who indicate the Republicans are engage in a war with!  Thing is, these notables have been engaging in behavior that is derogatory and abusive to......wait for it.......women.

Let's see now.  Oh yeah, Rev. Jesse Jackson.  Never mind he is an ordained minister and should be above such things as extramarital affair and fathered a child as a result.  I guess he was just being African American as 73% of all children born to African Americans are born out of wedlock.  Kudos to the National Enquirer for scooping the main stream media on that one.

Next, let's see now.  Oh yeah, Bill Clinton.  Never mind he was a sitting President that lied, under oath, to having sex with that intern in the blue dress.  Hey, Hillary stood by her man during the whole affair and was rewarded with a Senate seat.  Next up....The White House.

Next, let's see now.  Oh yeah, Anthony Weiner.  The jokes are tired and well used.  Here is a Congressman that cannot help himself when it comes to taking pictures of his nether regions and tweets them to women he does not know.  He assured us all that that was in the past and like Hillary, Huma stood by her man and still does to this day even though we find out he is still tweeting his weiner around cyberspace.  Next up, New York Mayoral office.

Next, let's see now.  Oh yeah, Bob Filner.  Here we have a Democrat Mayor that is actually assaulting everything that even remotely resembles a women.  He, so far, has a tally of seven women who have come forward with their complaints.  One of which is a US Navy Rear Admiral (no pun intended).  But wait, Debbie Wasserman Schultz has come forward and asks him to resign.

Next, let's see now.  Oh yeah, Elliot Spitzer.  I guess his black book of hookers have been depleted and needs a couple of fresh faces that public office can pay for.  Next up, New York Controller (again, no pun intended).

So, this war on women has a bunch of new Democrat generals.

Who pay's?

Yesterday we were told that Tawana Brawley aka Tawana Guiterrez has finally started to pay the man (Steven Pagones) that she falsely accused of raping her in 1987.  A brief rundown of this event is in order -- "The two-decade-long saga that nearly ruined Pagones’ life and career began on Nov. 28, 1987, when Brawley was found in a trash bag, with the words “n----r” and “b---h” scrawled on her body in feces.

In her first meetings with police, the teenager responded to questions with blank expressions, nods and by scrawling notes. She said she had been abducted by two white men, who dragged her into the woods where four other white men were waiting.

But Brawley, a cheerleader, didn’t offer much detail. She didn’t give police names or detailed descriptions of the men she claimed had brutalized her almost nonstop for four days.

What she did share — that one attacker had blond hair, a holster and a badge — sparked a media firestorm in New York City, which was still reeling from the killing of a black youth in Howard Beach, Queens, by a white mob.

Firebrands Maddox and Mason and a relatively unknown Sharpton jumped into the fray. Within weeks, a suspect emerged — Fishkill Police Officer Harry Crist Jr., who had been found dead in his apartment three days after the Brawley “attack.”

But Pagones, a Dutchess County prosecutor at the time, defended his dead friend Crist, offering an alibi for the cop — they were Christmas-shopping together on one of the days in question. And on the three other days of the “kidnapping,” Crist was on patrol, working at his other job at IBM, and installing insulation in an attic.

Brawley’s handlers then claimed — without proof — that Pagones was part of the white mob that kidnapped and raped the girl 33 times.
This 1987 case had all of the usual suspects that have gone on to fan the flames of racial tensions across the United States.  Names such as Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, Johnny Cochran and many others.  In 1988 Farrakhan vowed to kill and dismember Pagones while patting the hand of Brawley sitting next to him in a tent with 10,000 people who came out in support of Brawley.
The complete Grand Jury investigation and Report link is here.

If you read the report and view the video link of the incident you will come to the same conclusion that Sharpton used this case in the usual ways we have seen over the years.  Though Sharpton was sued by Pagones and had a financial Judgment leveled against him.  As usual, he had others step up and pay this money for him.  To this day Sharpton, enjoys the trappings that those he hustles against.  He smokes his expensive cigars in the exclusive Grand Havana Room that is an exclusive members only club.

Those who make up and falsely claim rape is a slap in the face to all those who are truly raped.  Those who make up and falsely claim a racially motivated rape case damage the credibility of those who have been victims of racially motivated crimes.

To this day, Sharpton still tells those who will listen that he believes "something did happen" in the Brawley case.  Unlike Sharpton, Brawley outlived her usefulness and now is paying for her lies and deceptive stories that harmed so many others.  I don't see those same race baiters and celebrities lining up to help her pay the $400,000+ she owes Pagones.  Pagones has publicly said that he would gladly vacate the money owed if Brawley would just tell the truth.  Once again the silence is deafening.

Even terrorist turn to Fox News

Major Hasan has sent his explanation for his terror actions to Fox News.  Boy, that must really steam the left.  Why not Msmbc or CNN where he would have received a hero's welcome and slanted coverage justifying his actions.

Nope, even terrorists prefer Fox news.  In an article written and posted today over at Powerline blog the author attempts to look at the bigger picture as it pertains to Hasan's military role.  He states
"Whatever you think of Hasan, a couple of points are indisputable: 1) The fact that this fanatic was employed by the U.S. Army to provide psychological counseling to servicemen indicates a severe dysfunction within our armed forces. 2) The Obama administration’s refusal to consider Hasan’s act of mass murder when boasting of its successful defense against radical Islamic attacks is a bad joke."

This man, Islamic Muslim man, attempts to explain to us infidels what is wrong with our society in America and how it is incompatible to devout Muslims who follow the Q'ran.  This is the other part of the big picture that the Powerline piece fails to show.  The literal interpretation of his holy book at the teachings of his prophet makes it impossible to reason with or coexist with the extreme form of this religious bastardization.

The American judicial system will be the place for those who were directly affected by this traitors actions.  Once he is found guilty and hopefully sentenced to die for his crimes then the families can bring wrongful death suit claims against him.  After all he is still being paid for his service for which he has boldly rejected his oath to the military and to the US Constitution.  In his world, he would have just lost a hand or his daughter would have been stoned to death.  Oh wait, that wouldn't have applied to him.  He would have been given a hero's welcome and the promise of 72 virgins awaiting.

Thinking about their own safety

The embassies in the following countries will be closed: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Mauritania, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

The consulates in ArbilIraqDhahran and JeddahSaudi Arabia; and Dubai, United Arab Emirates will also be shut.

The U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, which is normally closed to the public on Sunday, said all its facilities would be shut on Sunday and workers not essential for the building's security had been told not to come in. -- Chicago Tribune

May 23, 2013

“Today, the core of al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan is on the path to defeat,” said Obama in a speech at Ft. McNair’s National Defense University in Washington, D.C.  “Their remaining operatives spend more time thinking about their own safety, than plotting against us. They did not direct the attacks in Benghazi or Boston.” -- CNSNews

Don't get me wrong, the decision to close embassies to ensure our people are safe is the correct thing to do but given the wide area of geography involved in the closures, does it appear that Al Qaeda is spending more time thinking about their own safety?

While it is true that the current threat is purported to come from Yemen, the Administration continues to downplay al Qaeda generally as localized offshoots of terror wanabe's.  The article quote above specifically says that Obama stated al Qaeda in Afganistan and Pakistan as down the road to defeat.  But next door, in Iraq, on July 26th al Qaeda freed 500 of their prisoners in two separate coordinated attacks on 2 prisons.  The death toll to in July alone was 500.

This same group of al Qaeda in Iraq is behind the success of terror in Syria.  Yep, the same people that this Administration wants to give support and aid to in the attempt to topple Bashir Asaad.

A Democrat 9/11

On September 10th in the State of Colorado an election (or more aptly put a de-election) is taking place where a pair of Democrat Senators are facing a "recall".  This is not a Republican tit-for-tat for the Democrats efforts to recall Governor Walker of Wisconsin because they did not like the outcome of his first election and threat to Government Employee Unions.  No this recall is all about the liberals overreach of gun grabbing legislation in the wild west.

They Democrat machine has invested heavily to kill the attempt, by two "joe the plumber" types collecting the required amount of signatures to qualify under Colorado State law to put it on the ballot.  It is notable that in 140 years of Colorado's existence this (recall election) has never occurred before and now, today, there are two at risk of being recalled.  Both are Democrats and each hail from a Blue state controlled by their party.

According to the "American Spectator" article --"The desperate pro-Morse group also repeatedly tried and failed to disprove the legal validity of the recall petitions, leading Denver District Court Judge Robert Hyatt (not known as a friend of Republicans) to note that “the proponents for the recalls unquestionably made a good faith effort” to ensure the petitions were properly executed."

So, it will be interesting to see if this page taken from the liberals in Wisconsin (but for other reasons that are valid) will succeed in its efforts.  This fight at the OK corral in Colorado pits two State Democrats who want to disarm their constituents against a well armed citizenry.

Stay tuned.
