Van Jones and the progressive version of the “tea party”

Why is it that the progressives cannot come up with creative original thoughts that can persuade the American public their beliefs are in our best interest? Because, the ideology and the aims of their goals are radical and un-American. When the tea party was born and rapidly grew into an American grass roots phenomena it was a wake up call for them that the public wasn’t buying their product. They called us terrorists, thugs, racist and astro-turf of the corporate sector.

The progressives in the media and in the halls of Congress denied our passion even existed. Rallies were held around the country and the numbers were staggering to behold. Throughout this assault on our wives, grandmothers, sons & Daughters we kept coming out to the rallies to show our frustration at the direction these Progressives were taking us against our collective wills.

It started slowly when Scott Brown, a Republican, took the late Ted Kennedy’s senate seat followed by the victories in Virginia (McDonnell) and New Jersey (Christie). Then, came the tea party tsunami of the 2010 mid-term elections that saw a fresh wave of new, tea party conservative faces in Congress. These predominent “blue” state victories as well as the loss of the Democrats control of the House to Republicans were brushed aside as anomalies by the main stream progressive media.

Van Jones laments recently at the “Netroots” conference when he gave a speech where he insists that it is the Congressional conservatives (yes, the newly elected tea party backed ones) who are intentionally trying to unseat Obama by not passing legislation the Democrat/socialists want regarding spending. He says that they won’t even pass their own legislation to achieve this. I cannot count how many bills they indeed voted and passed regarding budgets, spending and the like that Harry Reid and company have squashed.


In June 2011, Jones, with the financial aid of Soros funds started his own political movement that he intentionally borrowed from the tea party script calling it “ Rebuild the Dream”.

Here are the 10 steps they espouse:

1 - Invest in America’s infrastructure

Rebuild our crumbling bridges, dams, levees, ports, water and sewer lines, railways, roads, and public transit. We must invest in high-speed Internet and a modern, energy-saving electric grid. These investments will create good jobs and rebuild America. To help finance these projects, we need national and state infrastructure banks.  help finance these projects, we need national and state infrastructure banks.


2 - Create 21st Century Energy Jobs

We should invest in American businesses that can power our country with innovative technologies like wind turbines, solar panels, geothermal systems, hybrid and electric cars, and next-generation batteries. And we should put Americans to work making our homes and buildings energy efficient. We can create good, green jobs in America, address the climate crisis, and build the clean energy economy.

3 - Invest in Public Education

We should provide universal access to early childhood education, make school funding equitable, invest in high-quality teachers, and build safe, well-equipped school buildings for our students. A high-quality education system, from universal preschool to vocational training and affordable higher education, is critical for our future and can create badly needed jobs now.

4 - Offer Medicare for all

We should expand Medicare so it's available to all Americans, and reform it to provide even more cost-effective, quality care. The Affordable Care Act is a good start and we must implement it -- but it's not enough. We can save trillions of dollars by joining every other industrialized country -- paying much less for health care while getting the same or better results.

5 - Make work pay

Americans have a right to fair minimum and living wages, to organize and collectively bargain, to enjoy equal opportunity, and to earn equal pay for equal work. Corporate assaults on these rights bring down wages and benefits for all of us. They must be outlawed.

6 - Secure Social Security

Keep Social Security sound, and strengthen the retirement, disability, and survivors' protections Americans earn through their hard work. Pay for it by removing the cap on the Social Security tax, so that upper-income people pay into Social Security on all they make, just like the rest of us.

7 - Return to fairer tax rates

End, once and for all, the Bush-era tax giveaways for the rich, which the rest of us -- or our kids -- must pay eventually. Also, we must outlaw corporate tax havens and tax breaks for shipping jobs overseas. Lastly, with millionaires and billionaires taking a growing share of our country's wealth, we should add new tax brackets for those making more than $1 million each year.

8 - End wars and invest at home

Our troops have done everything that's been asked of them, and it's time to bring them home to good jobs here. We're sending $3 billion each week overseas that we should be investing to rebuild America.

9 - tax wall street speculation

A tiny fee of a twentieth of 1% on each Wall Street trade could raise tens of billions of dollars annually with little impact on actual investment. This would reduce speculation, "flash trading," and outrageous bankers' bonuses -- and we'd have a lot more money to spend on Main Street job creation.

10 - Strengthen Democracy

We need clean, fair elections -- where no one's right to vote can be taken away, and where money doesn't buy you your own member of Congress. We must ban anonymous political influence, slam shut the lobbyists' revolving door in D.C., and publicly finance elections. Immigrants who want to join in our democracy deserve a clear path to citizenship. We must stop giving corporations the rights of people when it comes to our elections. And we must ensure our judiciary respect for the Constitution. Together, we will reclaim our democracy to get our country back on track.

Maybe its just me, but these 10 steps are the “same-old - same-old” rhetoric that the progressives have been spewing forever and are exactly what the tea party patriots have opposed.

So, just as the progressives perform their sleigh of hand routines by changing nomenclature to mask their agendas in a “more friendly” illusion they now want to appear “tea party” like in their softer version of tyranny. The imagery I liken this to is captured in the title of this article. Little Red Riding hood is rank and file tea party members happily skipping to grandma’s house where a “big bad wolf” is impersonating grandma lies in wait to devour us.

"Leaky Leahy's" irrelevance

The great state of Vermont has an image problem.  Famous for sap from their tree's making its way to America's breakfast tables they also have a slow "leaking" sap for a Senator spewing socialist crap in such a manner that history lessons are in order.

Leahy, during the Reagan administration, "leaked" sensitive intelligence information on numerous occasion to the press and thus was forced to resign his Vice Chairman position on the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Now, today, he is the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and has followed Obama's lead in the attempt to persuade (Chicago thug style) the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to NOT overturn Obamacare.  Leahy said:

“The conservative activism of recent years has not been good for the Court. Given the ideological challenge to the Affordable Care Act and the extensive, supportive precedent, it would be extraordinary for the Supreme Court not to defer to Congress in this matter that so clearly affects interstate commerce.”


Like syrup, we need to take everything his trunk spews, bottle it up and put it on a shelf with an expiration date of January 2012.

Obama doesn't vet his "useful idiots"

So, Paul (a Union Guy) and wife Valerie (unknown) is enthusiastic about repeating his 2008 vote for Obama in 2012, but Wife Val wants to wait and see what the economy does first.  I would love to be a fly on the kitchen wall in this household tonight after POTUS has packed up his teleprompter and the mere dozens of supporters go home.

The democrats have been busy.  They have designed and implemented an insidious cancerous socialism growth that spreads through our political halls of Congress, Senate and the White House.  They lie and they gerrymander information to make it appear that Capitalism is dead and that "social justice" through government down policies are the change we all have needed.  In the last few months, for instance, the President and his MSM lackeys have been spoon-fed us unemployment numbers that they say are proof positive of his policies success.  Take a look at the real picture:

The problem in America today is that the young are insulated from the realities of Communism of the past.  They are not taught the history of the millions of those who perished under despotic rulers the likes of Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao.  They do not have drills at school where they are taught to hide under their desks in case of a nuclear missile attack from Cuba.  They simply do not know the evils as older Americans do.

Communism today is no different than it was under Mao or Stalin.  Here is another picture that will illustrate how oppressive modern day communism is:

This recent satellite image is a visual difference between N Korea and South Korea at night.  You can also see communist China above the dark area to the North.

Finally, when Reagan ushered in the fall of the "Berlin Wall" that separated Communist East Germany from free West Germany a photographer walked the streets of East Germany in 1990 and took photos of what East Germans were subjected to.  Fast forward to today, and those steps and photo's were retraced.  Spiegel online ran the article titled "A Massive Face lift for East Germany" and posted the contrasting photos (37) which again show that "a picture is worth a thousand words"!

How can America even consider traversing down this road when there is ample proof of the results that await those who fail to know and understand history?

On April 19, CNN's Soledad O'Brien asked Rep. Allen West to name those Democrats in Congress he said are communist.  In typical West style, he hit her with the truth.  West replied "Communist, progressives, Marxist, statists...I'm looking at ideologies.  I'm looking at the things they believe in....."

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to compare the ideologies that West refers to.  All you have to do is look for your by following the links provided in this article here.

What is alarming is the fact the the youth of America do not have experience, first hand, with communism like older Americans.  The ideology is packaged in flashy multi-media sound bytes that appear cool and hip and the young are lapping it up without truly understanding how many have died under Communist and Marxist rulers.  They look at Che' as a cult icon to be worn on t-shirts while ignorant of the murderous and oppressive suffering under Cuba's Castro.

It is equally disturbing that the youth are being indoctrinated by the communist in our schools with out the ability to counter the damage being done.

No, what West was implying is members of Congress that hold these ideologies of Communism and Marxism while writing our laws and funding those aims.

The Congressional Progressive Caucus, which West eludes, in part, is literally the same as the Communist Party USA.

Section 1 -

1) "To uphold the right to universal access to affordable, high quality health care for all"
2) "To preserve guaranteed Social Security Benefits for all Americans"
3) "To ensure working families can live above the poverty line and with dignity by raising and indexing the minimum wage"

Section 2 -

"To eliminate all forms of discrimination based upon color, race, religion, gender, creed, disability, or sexual orientation"

Section 3 -

"To bring our troops home from Iraq as soon as possible"

Now, compare this platform to the Communist Party USA constitution:

Article VI, Section 3 lays out the following positions as "non-negotiable":

"Struggle for the unity of the working class, against all forms of national oppression, national chauvinism, discrimination against women....against homophobia and all manifestations of discrimination against gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people."

Among the points in the party's "Immediate Program":

"$12 minimum wages for all workers, national universal health care, and opposition to privatization of the United States Social Security.  Economic measures such as increased taxes on the rich and corporations, strong regulation of the financial industry, regulation and public ownership of utilities, increased federal aid to cities and states, opposition to the Iraq war and other military interventions, opposition to free trade treaties such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), nuclear disarmament and a reduced military budget, various civil rights provisions, campaign finance reform including public financing of campaigns; and election law reform, including runoff voting.

There are 76 members of Congress that makeup the "Congressional Progressive Caucus".  Some of the infamous ones are Nanci Pelosi, Keith Ellison, Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson-Lee, Emanuel Cleaver, Jesse Jackson Jr., and Bobby Rush.

Does anyone with a brain honestly believe that these particular members of Congress, who have sworn an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States, actually adhere to it?

Look at the racist, terrorist and communist Rep. Bobby Rush as a prime example.  It is of no surprise then that the thug Rush donned his most comfortable attire on the "Floor of the House" (hoodie) in protest.  Rush received immediate support from Comrade Pelosi when she came to his aid and said "I think that Bobbie Rush deserves a great deal of credit for the courage he had to go to to the floor in a hoodie, knowing that he would be told he was out of order."

If any of the readers of this article think this author is racist and incendiary in my comments describing Rush as a "racist, terrorist and communist" then please take the time to view the CBS news segment that aired on December 4, 1969.  Please keep in mind that Bobby Rush was a prominent leader in the Black Panther Party that terrorized America during the period.  Take a close look at the literature that the police confiscated from Rush's apartment at the end of the segment.



It is no different when you compare the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Communist Party USA, Union platforms, ACORN etc.  The problem is not confined to the halls of Congress but to powerful organizations that are aligned with the very ideologies that West referred.

The Obama/Democrat prism

Remember Bush v Gore? Imagine an election result (2012) that the Democrats, especially Obamas’ turning up negatively through a shift rightward rejecting their failed policies. Imagine an Obama war chest of close to a billion dollars and an army of election law attorney’s fanning across the country after a defeat to “contest” the results ala Bus v Gore.

Conspiracy theory? Preposterous?

If individual States cannot certify results then what is the result -- Obama remaining in the White House? Can you say “Occupy White House”!

Do you think this is such a radical idea for a man and his party that cut their teeth utilizing radical tactics? ACORN, Bill Ayers, OWS, Rev. Jeremiah Wright are just a few examples of Obama friends and advisors seeking radical, violent if necessary, change.

On December 5, 2011 Ed Pilkington (thegardian in NY) ran an article titled “NAACP warns black and Hispanic Americans could lose right to vote”. In this article it was reported that “the NAACP has petitioned the UN high commissioner on human rights of what it contends is a conscious attempt to “block the vote” on the part of state legislatures across the US.”

It must be reminded that the US has, in the recent past (Bush Administration), withdrawn/boycotted this Council until the decision by Obama to rejoin in 2009.

We know, for example, Jesse Jackson, Jr., stated his belief that Obama “suspend the Constitution” and pass the Jobs bill. We also know that Democrat Governor Bev Purdue (NC) called for suspending Congressional elections until the economy recovers only to recant with “I was joking”.

We also know that the people Obama is affiliated with look to Saul Alinsky and his “Rules for Radicals” as a roadmap to bring the American system down from within. The Cloward-Piven strategy to overwhelm the system by making the government live up to its promises/laws was the catalyst for the New York bankruptcy.

It was people like Bill Ayers and the Rathke brothers who began their activism in “Students for a Democratic Society (SDS)” and the “Weather Underground” offshoot to go on to found ACORN and SEIU.

Obama and his “Motor voter” efforts with ACORN saw the rise of rampant voter fraud charges and convictions after the 2008 elections. It was many of these abuses and electioneering that caused many States to adopt more stringent voter registration laws to combat them.

The NAACP’s petition of the UN HRC, goes to the heart of this effort and have gone to the international body for what, relief? According to the December 5 article the NAACP contend that - “voting rights are being whittled down at every stage of the electoral process. First of all, the registration of new voters is being impeded in several states by moves to block voter registration drives that have historically proved to be an important way of bringing black and Hispanic people to the poll.”

The article goes on to say - “more than 5 million Americans are denied the right to vote on grounds that they were convicted of a felony, 4 million of whom have fully completed their sentence and almost half of whom are black or Hispanic.”

Again, the article goes on to say – “Other measures have reduced the ease of early voting, a convenience that is disproportionately heavily used by African-Americans. Even more importantly, 34 states have introduced a requirement that voters carry photo ID cards on the day of the election itself.”

Finally, the NAACP points to Texas where the law passed disallowing college ID as a form of ID but a concealed carry permit (handgun) is. This argument is frivolous as stringent background checks are required to get a handgun permit whereas the college campus admission policies are not so stringent, wouldn’t you think?

The suppression of voter turnout is a red herring issue as the very States that the NAACP cite as conspiratorially racist in its aims were themselves victims of ACORN and their tactics. For instance, they cite Florida, but in 2008 election officials in Brevard County prosecutors were investigating more than 23 suspected registrations from ACORN while the states Division of Elections were also investigating complaints in Orange county.

In 2009 11 ACORN workers were accused of forging applications in Miami-Dade county. Law enforcement found 197 of 260 ACORN applications did not match living people.

In North Carolina in 2008 many applications had similar or identical names, but with different addresses or dates of birth.

In New Mexico in 2008 Prosecutors investigated more than 1,100 registrations deemed fraudulent. Many were also duplicated names and slightly altered personal information.

In Missouri in 2008 registrations were rejected due to duplicated and false information.

In Michigan in 2008, a large amount of fraudulent applications were turned over the US Attorney for investigation.

In Indiana in 2008 Election officials threw out registrations after they were found identical (handwriting) and from dead voters not to mention a “fast food restaurant” as a name.

In Ohio in 2008 ACORN gave residents cigarettes and cash for registration. Many voters admitted to registering more than a dozen times with one individual admitting to registering 72 times.

In Pennsylvania in 2008 Election officials threw out over 57,000 registrations for fraudulent signatures with vacant lots listed as their address. That same year an ACORN worker was sentenced to 23 months in prison identity theft and tampering records while a second ACORN workers posted a $10,000 bond to await trial.

In Pennsylvania in 2009 7 ACORN workers were indicted for falsifying voter registration with 6 of the 7 also indicted for registering under a “quota” system.

In Texas in 2008 over 10,000 registrations were thrown out as invalid including fraudulent address and personal information.

In Washington in 2007 3 ACORN workers pleaded guilty (and 4 more charged) for the worst case of voter fraud in the States history.

In Wisconsin in 2008, ACORN used “felons” to register voters in violation of State rules and 2 have been charged with voter fraud felonies.

The incredible divisiveness of Obama and the Democrats only make this scenario more plausible than not. Obama needs not to win the election, he only needs to occupy the White House after all “possession is 9/10ths of the law”!

With the election looming and Obama’s incredible credibility gap with the voting public due to failed promises, distortions and outright falsehoods it is easy to see the path he is embarking upon. He desperately wants to distance himself from his record and deeds and has literally blamed everything and everyone else for his and his party’s failures.

Shortly on the heels of the NAACP petition to the UN HRC we now learn through Eric Holder the reality of the supposition above. Holder, in a speech given at the LBJ Library, solidified the aims of Democrats and Obama to change the Voters Rights Act, specifically Section 5 to bring the US “into the 21st century.

No longer is Holder content with arming violent Mexican cartels, he aims to give them the right to vote through automation. The issue is certainly going to divide the American public who see this attempt for what it is – giving an edge to Democrats and Obama just in time for the election, if successful.

We do not have to look any further as this is blatant, illegal and unconstitutional from every angle. If we chose to examine motivations then we must also examine credibility too. As the “top cop” for the nation Holder has proven to be the liberal lap dog who doesn’t look to the law for guidance especially along “voter suppression or voter intimidation” lines. He has proven to be anything other than applying the law equitably as the “Black Panther” dismissal has shown.

The arrogance of Holder as he tries to appear the champion by channeling LBJ in his speech is, well, speechless. For instance, in the text of his speech he states –“Today, as Attorney General, I have the privilege – and solemn duty – of enforcing this law, and the other civil rights reforms that President Johnson championed. This work is among the Justice Department’s most important priorities. And our efforts honor the generations of Americans who have taken extraordinary risks, and willingly confronted hatred, bias, and ignorance – as well as billy clubs and fire hoses, bullets and bombs – to ensure their children, and all American citizens, would have the chance to participate in the work of their government. The right to vote is not only the cornerstone of our system of government – it is the lifeblood of our democracy. An no force has proved more powerful – or more integral to the success of the great American experiment – than efforts to expand the franchise.”

Again, referencing the Black Panther 2008 voter intimidation case that Holder dismissed (after it was won) shows the arrogance of the hypocrisy. Though his speech referenced the dangers that African-Americans faced in the turbulent times prior to the passage of the Voters Rights Act – his reference to “confronting billy clubs” is especially poignant as the Black Panthers blocked a Philadelphia Polling Station while armed with billy clubs. I assume that Holder meant that “to ensure their children, and all American Citizens” does not apply to African Americans who blatantly violate the very laws designed to ensure their childrens rights.

Is Holder lying or is his “frame of mind” just so that he actually believes what he is saying?
