The Peons and Nuts of Amateur Hour

The media described them as Peons, Nuts and the Amateur Hour.  They also called them "Astro Turf and "the Plucky Little Guerrilla Group" but in the end the brought down two sitting Senators in the State of Colorado.  In a battle that was brought on by Democrats who believe they do not have to listen or should be accountable to their constituents, the outside forces descended to squash the Peons.  The usual straw man, the NRA was maligned again to try to beat back the peasants from the fields.  The Peons and Nuts were, in the end, the Democrats and their fellow travelers.  What they do not understand is that the NRA garners their strength from membership fees of all of those "peons and nuts".  Every time a Democrat opens his/her mouth to attempt to demonize the NRA they are insulting millions upon millions of rubes that believe in their right to bear arms. 

The Democrats were nervous.  They had poured massive amounts of money into the State to defeat this band of brothers and sisters united.  They brought in Obama's ground team to go door to door to defeat this tidal wave of discontent.  Then at the 12th hour they brought in Grandpa Clinton himself to appeal to sway them out of their need to keep the 2nd Amendment in tact.  The Amateur Democrats don't learn from history.  When Clinton passed the "assault weapons ban" during his Presidency, the lost the House.

When Democrats use a State statute to enact a recall it is because they did not agree with the peons and nuts that elected the Wisconsin Governor.  When peons and nuts take this playbook page from the Democrats and are successful it must be fraud.  Hopefully, this will be a litmus test for the nation.  I do not think the Democrats will learn from this eventful night, but perhaps those who see the Democrats and loons and goons will rise up and use the levers of Democracy for what our founders intended, hold our elected leaders accountable to us.

Peace Prize cheapened again!

Al Gore............need I say more.  His "Inconvenient Truth" isn't his film documentary but the science behind it.  I use the term science with regret.

In December 2008 the BBC reported a "startling" science report in which Al Gore incorporated into his film and ultimately received the prize.  This report as reported in 2008 indicated that the polar ice would completely disappear by the summer of 2013.  The oceans were going to rise and population centers would mass migrate causing catastrophe of global proportions.  It's no wonder that Obama boldly stated he would stem the rise of the Oceans if he would only be elected.  A few months later, in May 2009, the same scientist (again I use this word loosely) gave another interview to Beyond Zero Emissions and stated that the computer models in his first report were probably "conservative" in nature, meaning, it could happen sooner. 

Flash forward to today.  In London, the news agency "UK Mail online" has a piece written that informs us that the Artic Ice mass has actually increased 60% from previous levels a year ago.  That is one hell of a "hockey stick" curve or swing if you will.  I guess for now, the polar bears can jump from their little floating ice flow that was literally melting underneath them to a larger play ground of 1 million square miles.  The question is:  Egg on the face scientists need a new story line, what will it be?  The UN climate people have delayed their current report, no less because it is, ah, flawed and will instead have a "pre-conference" meeting to discuss the latest findings. 

Obama on the other hand can take credit for stemming the rise of the sea.  hooray.....

Morse's bioharzardous constituents

It appears that Mr. Morse has put on his bio suite (Denver Broncos's shirt) and is now going door to door looking for support from those very same toxic constituents he bragged about ignoring.  Not only did he brag that he ignores his constituents but he advised his Democrat brothers and Sisters in the Senate to do the same.  When he was first elected, he  “promised to focus on jobs and the economy,” it complains, “but instead pushes gun control, civil unions, sex education, illegal alien tuition, etc.”. 

He said the following in a recent interview -- “When Angela and I win,” he said, alluding to Sen. Angela Giron, D-Pueblo, whose seat is also up for election Sept. 10, “I hope these issue kind of groups realize that recalls are not worth it and not a good strategy. Recalls are for unethical behavior, and not disagreements.”

Morse, typical Democrat hypocrite, describes recalls as unethical behavior yet the most recent example of the unethical nature of recalls come from Democrats attempt to recall Scott Walker in Wisconsin.  There, is an example of unethical behavior.  Walker as you recall was doing what he promised his constituent he would, Democrats didn't like it so they tried to recall him because of it.  When they failed, they occupied the Capital building with the Occupy Wall street types.  If you analyze the Walker recall efforts it shows that the Democrats do not care what constituents want it is about what they want because after all, Walker was doing what he promised he would do during his campaign.  Morse on the other hand did not.  This is why he will be recalled regardless of his new found fondness of his constituents and his Bronco tee.

An eagle's kiss

 

Freedom and I have been together 11 years this summer.  She came in as a baby in 1998 with two broken wings.  Her left wing doesn't open all the way even after surgery,
it was broken in 4 places.  She's my baby.

When Freedom came in she could not stand and both wings were broken. She was
emaciated and covered in lice. We made the decision to give her a chance at life, so I took
her to the vet's office. From then on, I was always around her. We had her in a
huge dog carrier with the top off, and it was loaded up with shredded newspaper for her to
lay in. I used to sit and talk to her, urging her to live, to fight; and she would lay
there looking at me with those big brown eyes.  We also had to tube feed her for weeks.

This went on for 4-6 weeks, and by then she still couldn't stand. It got to the point where the decision was made to euthanize her if she couldn't stand in a week. You know you don't want to cross that line between torture and rehab, and it looked like death was
winning. She was going to be put down that Friday, and I was supposed to come in
on that Thursday afternoon. I didn't want to go to the center that Thursday, because I couldn't bear the thought of her being euthanized; but I went anyway, and when I walked in everyone was grinning from ear to ear. I went immediately back to her cage; and there she was, standing on her own, a big beautiful eagle. She was ready to live. I was
just about in tears by then. That was a very good day.

We knew she could never fly, so the director asked me to glove train her.
I got her used to the glove, and then to jesses, and we started doing education programs for schools in western Washington .  We wound up in the newspapers,
radio (believe it or not) and some TV. Miracle Pets even did a show about us.

In the spring of 2000, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. I had stage 3,
which is not good (one major organ plus everywhere), so I wound up doing 8 months of
chemo. Lost the hair - the whole bit. I missed a lot of work. When I felt good enough, I would go to Sarvey and take Freedom out for walks. Freedom would also come to me in my dreams and help me fight the cancer. This happened time and time again.

Fast forward to November 2000.

The day after Thanksgiving, I went in for my last checkup.  I was told that if the cancer was not all gone after 8 rounds of chemo, then my last option was a stem cell transplant. Anyway, they did the tests; and I had to come back Monday for the results. I went in Monday, and I was told that all the cancer was gone.

So the first thing I did was get up to Sarvey and take the big girl out for a walk. It was misty
and cold. I went to her flight and jessed her up, and we went out front to the top of the
hill. I hadn't said a word to Freedom, but somehow she knew. She looked at me
and wrapped both her wings around me to where I could feel them pressing in on my back
(I was engulfed in eagle wings), and she touched my nose with her beak and stared into my
eyes, and we just stood there like that for I don't know how long. That was a
magic moment. We have been soul mates ever since she came in. This is a very special bird.

On a side note: I have had people who were sick come up to us when we are out, and
Freedom has some kind of hold on them. I once had a guy who was terminal come up to us and I let him hold her.  His knees just about buckled and he swore he could feel her power course through his body. I have so many stories like that..

I never forget the honor I have of being so close to such a magnificent spirit as Freedom.

Wild, Wild West

In four days I believe there will be reckoning in the great State of Colorado.  Many have written about the impending and historic recall election of two Democrats.  Accusations have flown about the press of proxies, special interest groups and outright electioneering have been leveled in an attempt to thwart this effort.  Much to the dismay of Democrats this recall efforts will proceed.  The Democrats are nervous and rightly so.  The usual straw man (NRA) is pilloried.  As the day approaches (Tuesday) I remembered the last time I visited the State while on business.  I arrived at the airport in Denver, rented a car and hit the highway for a business dinner.  It was snowing and my rental car did not have a GPS which left me to my own devices to find the area just North of Denver.  Somehow I got off the beaten path and found myself driving up a secluded mountainous area that did not provide me enough room to turn the vehicle around so onward I went waiting for a "turnaround" area.  Finally, the road was coming to an end and there I sat in the warmth of my car, headlights shining on a grave site that bore the historic name "Buffalo Bill Cody".  I laughed out load in spite of the fact I was the sole occupant of the car.  I have told this story to many people over the last 10 years as it was one of life's moments that actually make an impact.  This accidental find was surreal. 

With all of the news about Colorado I began to think about that fateful evening of discovery and found myself thinking about the history of the State of Colorado during the "Wild, Wild, West" time period and how Coloradans are especially proud of this aspect.  The State has always been pro second amendment until a redistricting of political boundaries saw the Democrats take control of the Colorado Governorship, Senate and their State House of Representatives.  Sound familiar?

There are many parallels of examples when Democrats, who are no friend of Coloradans nor of those who are pro second amendment advocates.  The Democrats were not even friends to the late great Buffalo Bill Cody.  I gave the first of what happens when the Democrats gain total control as they did in 2008 at the national level. 

When I literally stumbled across this great Western pioneers resting place it peaked my interest and did some research to refresh my historical memory of him.  I was surprised to find out that he was a "Congressional Medal of Honor" recipient.  In 1917, the Democrats had control of the White House (Wilson) as well as the US Senate and the House of Representatives.  The way that they had control of the House in spite of the fact that Republicans had a majority was due to the ideological alignment with the 6 "progressives" and the lone "socialist" member.  The country was split ideologically as it is today and the 7 members gave them a voting block majority.  It was this 65th Congress that stripped Buffalo Bill Cody of his "Medal of Honor".  1917 was also the year he died to add insult to injury.

Some of the other interesting tidbits I found on Cody was that the "Buffalo Bills" were named after him even though he had no ties to that State. 

Everything about the life of this man involves guns.  His "wild west shows" toured the US as well as the world.  So, I believe that he is probably rolling over in his grave, again, at the actions of Democrats.

What these Democrats did in their quest to follow Bloomberg's lead to strip those wild west gun loving Coloradans of their 2nd Amendment rights went too far for the likes of Coloradans of every political stripe, color and gender.  When, in the run up to pushing through this unpopular legislation no unlike Obamacare they insulted women in the process.  When a woman got up to speak about the fear of being raped and the benefits of being armed, the Democrats sullied their gender by saying that all they need to do is urinate or vomit on themselves in the commission of a rape instead of armed with a handgun.  Nice. 

So while we wait for Colorado to hold their elected leaders accountable for their actions I want to part ways here with another famous "wild west" character that appeared in many of the Buffalo Bill Wild West show that toured the globe -- Annie Oakley!  Somehow I don't think she had to resort to vomiting or urinating on herself for protection.  I remember her best by "Annie get your Gun"!

The Death of Investigative Journalism

It has been a long time since "Woodward and Berstein" type reporting.  The Main Street Media has engaged in a long slide into irrelevance.  No longer Can they be trusted to report the news in the manner that keeps us safe from many of the trespasses against us.  They only are concerned with creating a narrative that fits their ideological viewpoint and in more cases than not do not resemble anything near factual.  We pick up and read their diatribe as average citizens only to be left with the distinct impression that our world has turned upside down.  What is up appears to be down.  What we know to be right is said to be wrong.  We live in a world that is so foreign on the printed page that it does not reconcile with our own perceptions.

I was reading an article that hit the wires at American Thinker and for once in a very long time it struck me that the gist of what I just said above came into clear focus.  Before I link the article I want my readers to try to recall all of the pre-trial coverage, trial coverage and the post trial coverage of the Travon Martin shooting.  Now, read the linked article and compare this piece of investigative journalism to what we have been fed by the Topsy turvey MSM.
